A brief history…

Days After was originally formed by three members of Tommy and the Hot Rods, a 4-piece middle Georgia cover band that split up in the mid-90′s. A few years later, the Hot Rods got back together but had a new bass player this time (Darrell) and called themselves Days After. In February of 2005, after a few months of rehearsing, they played their first gig with this new line-up at a bar conveniently located across the street from their basement rehearsal studio. The band was well-received by a big crowd that night and word began to get around about this new local band.

After a couple of years, the lead singer / rhythm guitarist left the band and thereby left Will, Rob, and Darrell looking for a replacement. The manager of a local pub where Days After often played (and hung out) recommended local singer / guitarist  Matt Jones (formerly of The Yard Dogs and bartender at said local pub in the days of Tommy and the Hot Rods). When Matt met and jammed with the band in the basement studio, the search was over, Days After was complete………almost.

Soon after the new lineup began rehearsing, Matt brought brother Luke (who was at the time a keyboardist in several bands in Athens and home on break from UGA) to the studio to play with the band. The addition of piano and organ to the mix filled out the sound unbelievably and Luke commuted back and forth between Athens and Dublin for the next year until graduating from UGA and moving back to Dublin to become a full time member of the band.
